Reflective Heat tape is the most obvious solution to protecting induction pipework. Commonly found on many race applications and space craft, Gold reflective Heat tape can help reflect away up to 80% of all radiant heat. When used correctly, this additional protection can help the physical pipework reduce conduction of heat, and therefore reduce the transfer onto the airflow passing into it. This is a relatively cheap and easy modification that can be used on any hard piped induction system and heat shield. The gold tapes are self adhesive and can be hugely successful when used correctly.

REDLINE Gold Heat Tape is a metalized polyamide polymer laminated glass cloth with a high temperature pressure sensitive adhesive for use in extreme temperature swing environments. It is lightweight and easy to apply and remove. Highly effective material for firewalls, fuel cells, engine covers, under hoods, engine compartment, bulk heads, seat bottoms or any area that needs protection from heat.
